This Patrick Cavanagh married Rose Riley on January 7, 1853 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Here is their marriage record:

They divorced 13 years later. I found a divorce notice for Rose and Patrick Kavanagh from the Cleveland Daily Leader, Monday, June 11, 1866, for adultery, oops. Rose received $1,000 in alimony.

Patrick Cavanagh Who Died Just After the Civil War

This Patrick was born about 1834 in Ireland. He enlisted on March 12, 1864, and was from Cleveland, Ohio. His occupation was laborer. The record is hard to read but it looks like he deserted twice, in March 25, 1864, and April 3, 1864. He died November 18, 1866, of dysentery.

This Patrick appears in the 1869, 1870, 1874 Cleveland city directory living at 408 Lorain. His name is variably spelled with a ‘C’ and a ‘K’. In 1868, Rose Kavenagh, widow of Patrick, is living at 408 Lorain. In 1861, 1865, 1867, Patrick lived at 356 Lorain. In the 1863 directory, a Patrick who is a laborer lives at 356 Lorain. 1866 – cattle dealer living at 356 Lorain.
