Robert Bailey Hurt #1
Robert Bailey Hurt was an adjutant with the 55th Tennessee Infantry during the Civil War. An adjutant is the officer who is responsible for the regimental records and correspondence. It was an important and demanding position, but it did not preclude the officer from going into combat.
Robert Bailey Hurt died at the Battle of Franklin.

Robert Bailey Hurt (of Halifax, VA) married Susan DeBerry in June of 1843. They lived in Jackson, Tennessee (Rose Hill farm). RB Hurt died 8/31/1881. They had two children, a son – Robert Allen Hurt and a daughter Elizabeth Hurt (Leeper).
