My great-grandmother was Mabel LaBarre Straub, daughter of David Walter Straub (1855-1921) and Laura LaBar (1858-1925).

Birth

Mabel was born on April 26, 1878, in Shenandoah, PA.

Education

She attended the Boston Conservatory of Music where she played piano. She later played the organ in the Moravian Church in Bethlehem.

Marriage

Mabel married Edward Franklin Farquhar on August 26, 1909, in Lafayette, McKean, Pennsylvania. Their engagement was announced on April 30, 1909, in the Allentown Democrat.
